About
“Control MoCo Spending” (CMS) was formed to limit the property tax increase to the prior year CPI. Currently the amount the property tax can be increased is unlimited.
The purpose of this ballot petition is to secure enough signatures to get the question on the ballot for the 2026 election.
Objective
We want to change the county Charter to ensure that the Montgomery County Executive and County Council can not rasie property taxes above the prior year CPI.
How to get the job done
We were able to secure over 10,000 signatures to get term limits on the ballot in November 2026.
